- Gujarati Daal – a soupy pigeon pea daal with a sweet and sour taste
- Dhal Tadka – typical North Indian daal from Rajasthan made with mixed lentils, onion, garlic,tomatoes and masalas (spices). Toot dal (pigeon peas) tempered with spices and ghee.
- Kadhi – soup made from yoghurt and chickpea flour with a sweet and sour taste
